This one speaks to the painful cycle of addiction — the search for that first feeling, that first relief, that first escape, that first promise that something outside of us can finally make the inside feel okay.

But the “dragon” keeps moving.

What once brought relief begins to demand more.
What once felt like freedom becomes a chain.
What once seemed like the answer slowly becomes the problem.

For many people, addiction does not begin with wanting to destroy their lives.

It begins with wanting relief.

Relief from pain.
Relief from shame.
Relief from emptiness.
Relief from memories.
Relief from feeling too much — or feeling nothing at all.

But recovery begins when the chase finally tells the truth: The thing I kept running after was never going to give me what my soul was really looking for.

There is help.
There is hope.
And there is life on the other side of the chase.

If this song speaks to you or someone you love, may it be a reminder that hitting bottom does not have to be the end of the story.

Sometimes it becomes the place where the real story begins.
