Child of enabling parent with gambling addict sibling

I have a gambling addict for a sibling and our mother has constantly enabled him over the past 25 years. This most recent time he claims his life is at risk. We don't want something bad to happen to him but we just don't know what the truth is because of so many lies. My mom originally said no more money but is now questioning that decision for fear of my sibling getting hurt. I am irate because I feel when is enough enough, my mom should not have to deal with this. Any advice?
