This is the story about how your website has helped me with teaching a class called "Letting Go of Codependency" to incarcerated women.
I am a recovering codependent and discovered CoDA about 18 years ago. I am not a professional, but a believer in continuing education and reached a point where I felt I could make a difference for others.
About nine weeks ago, I had the opportunity to do this within a reentry program and literally jumped in with only one idea for the first class. After four classes with four more committed, I asked the students for feedback and direction and received the question "How does abandonment relate to codependency?"
I could not find the answer in the books I had, so turned to the internet. I found your "Iceberg" and could not have been more thrilled.
The four parts were perfect for four more classes, but as you can probably imagine, that was not enough time. I did my best, but the students were so interested, they asked for a copy of what I had taken off your website.
Inmates do not have access to the internet, and I am delighted that I was able to give them what I could. Next week I begin another series of eight classes, and I am moved to thank you and let you know how much you are helping.
So thank you!
Most sincerely, Elena
