My Son has been smoking weed for the last five years and I feel like such a fool

I really don't know where to begin. My son grew up being on a lot of different medications for his bipolar/ADD I don't think they ever really knew. But in 10th grade he decided that he was not going to take his medicine and nothing that I did would make him take it. Know he is almost 21 and he got stopped one street from our house and got pulled over because he forgot to put his head lights on and he was one street to making it home and the officer could smell the weed on him and my son told him it was in the car. He was handcuffed in the back of a cop car and taken to hospital for a drug test and now is waiting to get his court date. He this is the seventh day of not smoking any and he is a crazy made all over the map nothing is making him happy screaming and upset about every little thing. I just don't know what to do he says he has stopped before and he can do it again. I think because he was on medications at a young age 3 that when he went off the medication in 10th grade of high school that hos body was graving drugs and this is the only thing that he said he has used. I don't know what to do. He is a responsible adult. he pays his bills, has his own vehicles and pays his way. but now I am afraid because it is his first offense will he make it through this. He needs help he is unbearable to live with. And his girlfriend is at loose ends nothing she does is right. Please give me some suggestions how to help him please?
