Full of despair and hopelessness.

All I think about is my sons and how they are getting in trouble. I have no peace. When they have a bad day, I have a bad day. I do not know how much longer I can go on.

I Understand
by: Linda

I am where you are. We are letting our children's actions rule our lives. I know you can't forget about them, but we have to do something on our own. I plan to start volunteering at our local hospital. I am 62, if I could I would get a job.
Please, don't give up on yourself. I don't know how you're enabling, but I was doing it financially. Finally I see that the one hurting emotionally was me, and the one hurting in learning to live was my daughter, enabled by me.
Please. you're an important person too.

Hang on...
by: Don Carter

I know you are suffering and that you feel hopeless...I can hear that in what you are saying.

What I don't know is what you mean by "I don't know how long I can go on..." but I don't like the sound of it.

PLEASE, if you are not safe and thinking of hurting yourself, call 911 and TELL THEM. They will make sure you get you into a safe place for a few days until you can get to safer ground.

When you come back, check this page for responses to your post...there will be much to read as others here know what you feel and can offer their experience, strength and hope.

Remember what my wife says frequently -- Pain is optional, there is help and hope!! Let us know how it goes.

Don
