Boyfriend allowing brother to stay with him rent-free

I'm in a weird situtation here.....my boyfreind bought a house a few months back (June) and his brother moved in with him. His brother has not paid rent or bills since he has moved in. My boyfriend asks him every month for the rent, but his brother says he'll pay and never does. It bothers me because I feel like his brother is taking advantage of him, but on the other hand my boyfriend is letting his brother get away with not paying. I have plans to move in with him next month, but not sure not if I should. It bothers me that I will be moving in and paying rent and utility bills when his brother has to pay nothing. Please don't misunderstand me, I don't mind paying bills, and I am going to regardless, but if I'm paying rent I feel his brother should be as well. I don't know how to bring this up without sounding like I"m pestering him, but it just really bothers me that he allows this and doesn't put his foot down. Am I making a mistake by moving in?

Paying for your bitch-desperate sister.
by: Anonymous

My boyfriend's sister is a single mom with 3-kids, and he lives out of his car, because he pays 1,300 dollars a month for his sister to live in a house, that he owns, but she kicked him out, and has taken over the house, and mind you, she is not even paying to live in the house, he is paying mortgage, electric, gas, heat, repair and upkeep.

Re:brother not paying

The boyfriend will eventually get it, providing you hold off on moving in until he gets it. think about this, if were to walk into that situation with your eyes wide open. what can come out of it? you naturally will get a resentment, if you don't already have one. the resentments will be toward both brother and boyfriend. you will become the "troublemaker" if you encourage the boyfriend to make brother pay.
there is some family dynamics that are deep rooted and you will not win any merits if you move in.
your boyfriend needs to hit his own bottom with this.step up to his brother on his terms, not cause his girlfriend is backing him. I would not move in with any man who has issues approaching or confronting money matters. best thing I think sit back an watch how this unfolds. this boyfriend could be a potential life partner or not. And here is a good time to find out what he is made of.
good luck
