You first

It would be nice if it was so easy to just say that's enough, but sometimes it's not that easy.

My son did that crap to me for many years and I finally had enough and he's happy living in recovery home and working (finally) because he has to. No more free ride means getting out there and seeking the help he needs, but you cannot do that for him.

The only thing you can do is take care of yourself and distance yourself from him with love, if possible. Good luck to you and really just take care of yourself.

Look After Yourself
by: Evan

You sound to me like you are frustrated and exhausted.

Perhaps you need time to have a break to refresh and have time to think and find out what you want and what is important to you.

If the kids are older you may be able to leave them at home for a little while. It may be helpful to leave the physical situation.

Perhaps this is the next step for you. I hope this helps or at least stimulates some fresh thinking for you.
